Misty and Milo’s Adoption Story

MHS truly saved me. After the loss of my soul cat, my “Son”, for over a decade, who passed suddenly due to a health complication, I was broken. I never wanted to feel the pain of losing an animal again and was resigned as a pet owner. My Vet encouraged me to open my mind to being a foster. I signed up through the Mississauga Human Society. After many questions and a home visit, two teeny kitties were dropped off and changed my trajectory.
Misty and Milo were timid, hid constantly and were true scaredy cats - during the day. At night they would be competing for the Olympics- causing a ruckus all night while playing, chasing and jumping around. Eventually they settled in and healed my broken heart. They began sleeping by my side, making biscuits on me and playing fetch. Milo is the adventurous boy! He'll often end up on a shelf, in a bookcase, on top of a door (somehow) yet is truly a cuddle bug. Misty is my hunter! She catches toys, lasers and the occasional spider with exact precision. She loves to fetch and is always showing you her belly for a rub and licks very generously.
After a year together my life moved me to Edmonton. This is when I officially became a #FosterFail! Misty and Milo flew with me to Edmonton! They currently love to watch the snow and chase each other all over my new home. I can't imagine being on this journey without them. They help me honor my first fur baby, allowed me to show my love and have saved my broken heart. Thank you MHS for everything you do. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays everyone!
