Mississauga Humane Society is dedicated to doing what’s best for the animals in our care, and sometimes that means not offering them for adoption. Our long-term foster cats and dogs have special needs and your donations can help us meet them.

Animals in Our Care
Get to know the animals your support helps every day
We're thrilled to introduce you to the incredible animals in our care. The descriptions provided below only scratch the surface of their unique personalities, stories, and needs. Together, we can make a difference in their lives.
Posey
Posey’s journey started as a stray, but she’s slowly finding her footing in the warmth of her foster home. While she adores the company of the resident cats, she’s still learning that people can be just as kind. With time and patience, Posey is beginning to open her heart—one small step at a time.
Sean
Sean came to MHS in terrible shape after a severe animal attack left him with puncture wounds and abscesses all over his body. After a long road of vet care, he's now safe in a foster home. Though he has some lasting neurological issues—he can’t walk straight or stop well when he runs—Sean is full of love, cuddles, and a big appetite. He’s one happy, resilient boy!
Pussbond
Pussbond is a sweet and gentle kitty who’s ready to find her forever home. After bravely caring for her kittens in the wild, she’s now seeking a life of comfort and love. With her kittens happily settled in their new homes, it’s Pussbond’s time to shine.
Thanks to her foster family and cat friends, Pussbond has become more playful, curious, and affectionate. During the day, she enjoys napping in her favorite spot, following her foster brother, and watching birds with her foster sister. Though she’s still a bit hesitant with humans, she now enjoys gentle pets and loves licking treats from your hand.
Godiva
Godiva is a shy girl when it comes to people, but she’s an amazing caregiver to the kitties in her foster home. Despite her reserved nature, she’s a gentle soul. Godiva also faces challenges with severe stomatitis, so her health is carefully monitored to ensure she stays comfortable and well.
Mama Sally
Mama Sally’s journey began in a backyard, where she and her three kittens were trapped and rescued. Despite the hardships she faced, Mama Sally has shown incredible strength and love for her little ones.
Alice
Alice is a shy girl who prefers to keep her distance from human interaction. However, she’s absolutely in love with her wet food and her cozy cat tree window seat, where she can watch the world go by in peace. While she may be reserved, Alice’s little comforts make her a happy and content kitty.
Sanoma
Sanoma is a sweet but shy girl who takes her time to relax and trust new people. She’s in a wonderful foster home where she receives the patience and care she needs every day. Due to food allergies, she’s on a special hypoallergenic diet, but with the right support, she’s making great progress.
