Mississauga Humane Society is dedicated to doing what’s best for the animals in our care, and sometimes that means not offering them for adoption. Our long-term foster cats and dogs have special needs and your donations can help us meet them.

Animals in Our Care
Get to know the animals your support helps every day
We're thrilled to introduce you to the incredible animals in our care. The descriptions provided below only scratch the surface of their unique personalities, stories, and needs. Together, we can make a difference in their lives.
Baby, Kitty, Tammy, Ricky, & Barney
Baby, Kitty, Tammy, Ricky, and Barney were surrendered to MHS after their elderly owner was hospitalized and his family, living out of town, couldn’t care for them. Despite reaching out to many other rescues and the city shelter, no one was willing to take in this family of elderly cats. Ricky is 19 years old, while the rest of the family ranges from 13 to 15 years old. Finally, MHS connected with the family, and we were able to bring them into care. After receiving extensive medical treatment, they are now in loving foster homes where they are well cared for. We are incredibly lucky to have such amazing foster families who are giving them the comfort and attention they deserve.
Wyatt & Faith
Wyatt and Faith are a bonded pair who were trapped together along with their five kittens. While the kittens have all found their forever homes, Wyatt and Faith remain in foster care, working on building trust with people. They are extremely shy but are slowly learning to feel more comfortable in their new environment.
Gary
Gary is a beautiful, fluffy tabby with a playful and curious nature. While he’s a bit timid, he’s always interested in interacting with people when it’s on his terms—whether it's for food or play. Gary loves chasing the laser pointer and playing with small fuzzy mouse toys. This handsome boy is FIV positive and came to us from the streets, likely due to a tough past that led to his FIV infection. Gary is extremely shy with new people, so he would thrive in a home with adults only who can give him the space and patience he needs to feel safe.
